Scanners from Keithley Instruments are programmable switches, that connect multiple input channels to an instrument. The channel numbers start with 10 input channels and may end with some 1000 channels. There are multiplexers (MUX), matrix cards or individual relay channels cards possible to install in different scanner mainframes. The relays themselves are designed for high isolation between the channels and good small signal response with a typical noise floor of 500nV. The scanners can be programmed both manually from the front panel, or via IEEE 488, RS232 or LXI. Scanners are important, central parts of a multichannel automated test system.
